Band saw definition
A band saw is basically a type of saw.
It can be used for both woodworking and metal working, as well as a
variety of other materials. The name, band saw, comes from the structure
of its blade, which consists of a band of metal with teeth on it. The
band rides around on two wheels stacked vertically with a space between
them. Band saws are useful for cutting irregular shapes. The thickness
of the blade determines the radius of a curve that can be cut on a saw.
